Gn 15, 1-21

1 (UKJV) After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am your shield, and your exceeding great reward.
1 (KAT) Po týchto udalostiach sa Pán prihovoril vo videní Abramovi takto: „Neboj sa Abram, ja som tvoj štít. Tvoja odmena bude veľmi veľká!“

2 (UKJV) And Abram said, LORD God, what will you give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
2 (KAT) Abram odpovedal: „Pane, Bože, čože mi dáš? Veď ja odídem bezdetný a dedičom môjho domu bude damašský Eliezer.“

3 (UKJV) And Abram said, Behold, to me you have given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.
3 (KAT) A Abram pokračoval: „Veď si mi nedal potomstvo a môj domorodý sluha bude mojím dedičom!“

4 (UKJV) "And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be your heir; but he that shall come forth out of your own bowels shall be your heir. "
4 (KAT) Ale Pán mu povedal: „On nebude tvojím dedičom. Tvojím dedičom bude ten, čo vyjde z tvojho lona.“

5 (UKJV) And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if you be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall your seed be.
5 (KAT) Vyviedol ho von a povedal mu: „Pozri na nebo a spočítaj hviezdy, ak môžeš!“ A uistil ho: „Také bude tvoje potomstvo!“

6 (UKJV) "And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. "
6 (KAT) Abram uveril Bohu a to sa mu počítalo za spravodlivosť.

7 (UKJV) And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought you out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give you this land to inherit it.
7 (KAT) Potom mu povedal: „Ja som Pán. Ja som ťa vyviedol z Chaldejského Uru, aby som ti dal do vlastníctva túto krajinu.“

8 (UKJV) And he said, LORD God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?
8 (KAT) On odpovedal: „Pane, Bože, podľa čoho poznám, že ju budem vlastniť?“

9 (UKJV) And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.
9 (KAT) Pán mu odpovedal: „Vezmi pre mňa trojročnú kravu, trojročnú kozu, trojročného barana, hrdličku a holubicu!“

10 (UKJV) And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.
10 (KAT) On to všetko vzal, rozsekol ich na polovice a polovice položil jednu oproti druhej, vtáky však nerozsekal.

11 (UKJV) And when the fowls came down upon the carcasses, Abram drove them away.
11 (KAT) Keď zlietali vtáky na mŕtve telá, Abram ich odoháňal.

12 (UKJV) "And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him. "
12 (KAT) A keď zapadalo slnko, padol na Abrama tvrdý spánok. Prepadla ho hrôza a veľká tma.

13 (UKJV) "And he said unto Abram, Know certainly that your seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not their's, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; "
13 (KAT) A (Pán) povedal Abramovi: „Dobre si uvedom, že tvoje potomstvo bude prišelcom v cudzej krajine, zotročia ho a štyristo rokov budú s ním zle zaobchádzať.

14 (UKJV) And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
14 (KAT) Ale národ, ktorému budú otročiť, budem ja súdiť. Potom vyjdú s veľkým majetkom.

15 (UKJV) "And you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried in a good old age. "
15 (KAT) Ty však v pokoji odídeš k svojim otcom a pochovajú ťa vo vysokom veku.

16 (UKJV) But in the fourth generation they shall come here again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
16 (KAT) Ale vo štvrtom pokolení sa sem vrátia, lebo ešte nie sú dovŕšené neprávosti Amorejčanov.“

17 (UKJV) And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
17 (KAT) Keď zapadlo slnko a zotmilo sa, zjavila sa dymiaca pec a horiaca fakľa, ktorá prešla pomedzi tie čiastky.

18 (UKJV) In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto your seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
18 (KAT) V ten deň Pán uzavrel s Abramom zmluvu a povedal: „Tvojmu potomstvu dám túto krajinu od Egyptskej rieky až po veľkú rieku Eufrat;

19 (UKJV) The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,
19 (KAT) Kenejcov, Kenezejcov, Kadmoncov,

20 (UKJV) And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,
20 (KAT) Hetejcov, Ferezejcov a Refaimcov,

21 (UKJV) And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.
21 (KAT) Amonitov, Kanaánčanov, Gergezejčanov a Jebuzejcov.“
