Flp 4, 1-23

1 And so, my most beloved and most desired brothers, my joy and my crown: stand firm in this way, in the Lord, most beloved. 2 I ask Euodia, and I beg Syntyche, to have the same understanding in the Lord. 3 And I also ask you, as my genuine companion, to assist those women who have labored with me in the Gospel, with Clement and the rest of my assistants, whose names are in the Book of Life. 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I say, rejoice. 5 Let your modesty be known to all men. The Lord is near. 6 Be anxious about nothing. But in all things, with prayer and supplication, with acts of thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God. 7 And so shall the peace of God, which exceeds all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Concerning the rest, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is chaste, whatever is just, whatever is holy, whatever is worthy to be loved, whatever is of good repute, if there is any virtue, if there is any praiseworthy discipline: meditate on these. 9 All the things that you have learned and accepted and heard and seen in me, do these. And so shall the God of peace be with you. 10 Now I rejoice in the Lord exceedingly, because finally, after some time, your feelings for me have flourished again, just as you formerly felt. For you had been preoccupied. 11 I am not saying this as if out of need. For I have learned that, in whatever state I am, it is sufficient. 12 I know how to be humbled, and I know how to abound. I am prepared for anything, anywhere: either to be full or to be hungry, either to have abundance or to endure scarcity. 13 Everything is possible in him who has strengthened me. 14 Yet truly, you have done well by sharing in my tribulation. 15 But you also know, O Philippians, that at the beginning of the Gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not a single church shared with me in the plan of giving and receiving, except you alone. 16 For you even sent to Thessalonica, once, and then a second time, for what was useful to me. 17 It is not that I am seeking a gift. Instead, I seek the fruit that abounds to your benefit. 18 But I have everything in abundance. I have been filled up, having received from Epaphroditus the things that you sent; this is an odor of sweetness, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. 19 And may my God fulfill all your desires, according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 20 And to God our Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. 21 Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. 22 The brothers who are with me greet you. All the saints greet you, but especially those who are of Caesar’s household. 23 May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

Flp 4, 1-23

Verš 1
And so, my most beloved and most desired brothers, my joy and my crown: stand firm in this way, in the Lord, most beloved.
1Sol 2:19 - For what is our hope, and our joy, and our crown of glory? Is it not you, before our Lord Jesus Christ at his return?

Verš 3
And I also ask you, as my genuine companion, to assist those women who have labored with me in the Gospel, with Clement and the rest of my assistants, whose names are in the Book of Life.
Ex 32:32 - or, if you do not, then delete me from the book that you have written.”
Ž 69:28 -
Zjv 3:5 - Whoever prevails, so shall he be clothed in white vestments. And I will not delete his name from the Book of Life. And I will confess his name in the presence of my Father and in the presence of his Angels.
Zjv 20:12 - And I saw the dead, great and small, standing in view of the throne. And books were opened. And another Book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged by those things that had been written in the books, according to their works.
Zjv 21:27 - There shall not enter into it anything defiled, nor anything causing an abomination, nor anything false, but only those who have been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb.

Verš 4
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I say, rejoice.
1Sol 5:6 - Therefore, let us not sleep, as the rest do. Instead, we should be vigilant and sober.

Verš 5
Let your modesty be known to all men. The Lord is near.
1Kor 10:11 - Now all of these things happened to them as an example, and so they have been written for our correction, because the final age has fallen upon us.
Heb 10:25 - not deserting our assembly, as some are accustomed to do, but consoling one another, and even more so as you see that the day is approaching.

Verš 6
Be anxious about nothing. But in all things, with prayer and supplication, with acts of thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God.
Ž 55:22 -
Mt 6:25 - And so I say to you, do not be anxious about your life, as to what you will eat, nor about your body, as to what you will wear. Is not life 567 more than food, and the body more than clothing?
1Tim 6:8 - But, having nourishment and some kind of covering, we should be content with these.
1Tim 6:17 - Instruct the wealthy of this age not to have a superior attitude, nor to hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who offers us everything in abundance to enjoy,
1Pt 5:7 - Cast all your cares upon him, for he takes care of you.

Verš 7
And so shall the peace of God, which exceeds all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Jn 14:27 - Peace I leave for you; my Peace I give to you. Not in the way that the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, and let it not fear.
Rim 5:1 - Therefore, having been justified by faith, let us be at peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Kor 2:14 - But the animal nature of man does not perceive these things that are of the Spirit of God. For it is foolishness to him, and he is not able to understand it, because it must be examined spiritually.

Verš 8
Concerning the rest, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is chaste, whatever is just, whatever is holy, whatever is worthy to be loved, whatever is of good repute, if there is any virtue, if there is any praiseworthy discipline: meditate on these.
Rim 13:13 - Let us walk honestly, as in the daylight, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in promiscuity and sexual immorality, not in contention and envy.
1Sol 4:3 - For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from fornication,

Verš 10
Now I rejoice in the Lord exceedingly, because finally, after some time, your feelings for me have flourished again, just as you formerly felt. For you had been preoccupied.
2Kor 11:9 - And when I was with you and in need, I was burdensome to no one. For the 668 brothers who came from Macedonia supplied whatever was lacking to me. And in all things, I have kept myself, and I will keep myself, from being burdensome to you.

Verš 11
I am not saying this as if out of need. For I have learned that, in whatever state I am, it is sufficient.
1Tim 6:6 - But piety with sufficiency is great gain.

Verš 12
I know how to be humbled, and I know how to abound. I am prepared for anything, anywhere: either to be full or to be hungry, either to have abundance or to endure scarcity.
1Kor 4:11 - Even to this very hour, we hunger and thirst, and we are naked and repeatedly beaten, and we are unsteady.
2Kor 11:27 - with hardships and difficulties, with much vigilance, in hunger and thirst, with frequent fasts, in cold and nakedness,

But you also know, O Philippians, that at the beginning of the Gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not a single church shared with me in the plan of giving and receiving, except you alone.
2Kor 11:9 - And when I was with you and in need, I was burdensome to no one. For the 668 brothers who came from Macedonia supplied whatever was lacking to me. And in all things, I have kept myself, and I will keep myself, from being burdensome to you.

Verš 18
But I have everything in abundance. I have been filled up, having received from Epaphroditus the things that you sent; this is an odor of sweetness, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.
Heb 13:16 - But do not be willing to forget good works and fellowship. For God is deserving of such sacrifices.

Flp 4,1 - "Moja koruna" – doslova "môj veniec" – symbol slávy a odmeny.

Flp 4,2 - Obe sú ženské mená. Nič bližšie o nich nevieme. Pavol ich vyzýval, aby žili vo svornosti, ako to naznačuje aj význam ich gréckych mien.

Flp 4,3 - "Spolupracovník" (gr. sýzygos), čo niektorí považujú za vlastné meno Syzygos. – Klement – podľa niektorých ide o Klementa I., rímskeho pápeža. Výraz "kniha života" je častý biblický obraz (Ex 32, 32 n.; Ž 69, 29; Dan 12, 1; Zjv 3, 5) a znamená prijatie do Božej priazne, milosti.

Flp 4,5 - Pán je blízko, pretože isto príde.

Flp 4,11 - Pavol sa usiloval vyžiť z toho, čo mal. Materiálnu podporu prijal jedine od Filipanov, ktorých mal osobitne rád.

Flp 4,12 - "Naučil" – doslovne: stal som sa zasväteným, čo znamená: Naučil som sa to, čo všetci nepoznajú.

Flp 4,15 - Porov. Sk 17, 1–10. Pavol tu používa výrazy zo života obchodníkov, aby zdôraznil výmenu duchovných a hmotných dobier medzi ním a Filipanmi.
