Mt 22, 1-46

1 And responding, Jesus again spoke to them in parables, saying: 2 “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who was king, who celebrated a wedding for his son. 3 And he sent his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding. But they were not willing to come. 4 Again, he sent other servants, saying, ‘Tell the invited: Behold, I have prepared my meal. My bulls and fatlings have been killed, and all is ready. Come to the wedding.’ 5 But they ignored this and they went away: one to his country estate, and another to his business. 6 Yet truly, the rest took hold of his servants and, having treated them with contempt, killed them. 7 But when the king heard this, he was angry. And sending out 577 his armies, he destroyed those murderers, and he burned their city. 8 Then he said to his servants: ‘The wedding, indeed, has been prepared. But those who were invited were not worthy. 9 Therefore, go out to the ways, and call whomever you will find to the wedding.’ 10 And his servants, departing into the ways, gathered all those whom they found, bad and good, and the wedding was filled with guests. 11 Then the king entered to see the guests. And he saw a man there who was not clothed in a wedding garment. 12 And he said to him, ‘Friend, how is it that you have entered here without having a wedding garment?’ But he was dumbstruck. 13 Then the king said to the ministers: ‘Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 14 For many are called, but few are chosen.’ ” 15 Then the Pharisees, going out, took counsel as to how they might entrap him in speech. 16 And they sent their disciples to him, with the Herodians, saying: “Teacher, we know that you are truthful, and that you teach the way of God in truth, and that the influence of others is nothing to you. For you do not consider the reputation of men. 17 Therefore, tell us, how does it seem to you? Is it lawful to pay the census tax to Caesar, or not?” 18 But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said: “Why do you test me, you hypocrites? 19 Show me the coin of the census tax.” And they offered him a denarius. 20 And Jesus said to them, “Whose image is this, and whose inscription?” 21 They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Then render to Caesar what is of Caesar; and to God what is of God.” 22 And hearing this, they wondered. And having left him behind, they went away. 23 In that day, the Sadducees, who say there is to be no resurrection, approached him. And they questioned him, 24 saying: “Teacher, Moses said: If anyone will have died, having no son, his brother shall marry his wife, and he shall raise up offspring to his brother. 25 Now there were seven brothers with us. And the first, having taken a wife, died. And having no offspring, he left his wife to his brother: 26 similarly with the second, and the third, even to the seventh. 27 And last of all, the woman also passed away. 28 In the resurrection, then, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had her.” 29 But Jesus responded to them by saying: “You have gone astray by knowing neither the Scriptures, nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection, they shall neither marry, nor be given in marriage. Instead, they shall be like the Angels of God in heaven. 31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken by God, saying to you: 32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’ He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” 33 And when the crowds heard this, they wondered at his doctrine. 34 But the Pharisees, hearing that he had caused the Sadducees to be silent, came together as one. 35 And one of them, a doctor of the law, questioned him, to test him: 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” 37 Jesus said to him: “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God from all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 But the second is similar to it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments the entire law depends, and also the prophets.” 41 Then, when the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus questioned them, 42 saying: “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “David’s.” 43 He said to them: “Then how can David, in the Spirit, call him Lord, saying: 44 ‘The Lord said to my Lord: Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool?’ 45 So then, if David calls him Lord, how can he be his son?” 46 And no one was able to respond to him a word. And neither did anyone dare, from that day forward, to question him.

Verš 32
‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’ He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
Ex 3:6 - And he said, “I am the God of your father: the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Moses hid his face, for he dared not look directly at God.

And when the crowds heard this, they wondered at his doctrine.

Lk 14:6 - And they were unable to respond to him about these things.

Verš 34
But the Pharisees, hearing that he had caused the Sadducees to be silent, came together as one.
Mk 12:28 - And one of the scribes, who had heard them arguing, drew near to him. And seeing that he had answered them well, he questioned him as to which was the first commandment of all.

Jesus said to him: “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God from all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

Dt 10:12 - And now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? Only that you fear the Lord your God, and walk in his ways, and love him, and serve the Lord your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul,
Dt 30:6 - The Lord your God will circumcise your heart, and the heart of your offspring, so that you may love the Lord your God with your entire heart and with your entire soul, so that you may be able to live.

But the second is similar to it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
Lv 19:18 - Do not seek revenge, neither should you be mindful of the injury of your fellow citizens. You shall love your friend as yourself. I am the Lord.
Mk 12:31 - But the second is similar to it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Rim 13:9 - For example: You shall not commit adultery. You shall not kill. You shall not steal. You shall not speak false testimony. You shall not covet. And if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Gal 5:14 - For the entire law is fulfilled by one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Ef 5:2 - And walk in love, just as Christ also loved us and delivered himself for us, as an oblation and a sacrifice to God, with a fragrance of sweetness.
1Sol 4:9 - But concerning the charity of brotherhood, we have no need to write to you. For you yourselves have learned from God that you should love one another.

Then, when the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus questioned them,

Then the king said to the ministers: ‘Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

For many are called, but few are chosen.’ ”

Then the Pharisees, going out, took counsel as to how they might entrap him in speech.
Mk 12:13 - And they sent some of the Pharisees and Herodians to him, so that they might trap him with words.
Lk 20:20 - And being attentive, they sent traitors, who would pretend that they were just, so that they might catch him in his words and then hand him over to the power and authority of the procurator.

And one of them, a doctor of the law, questioned him, to test him:
Lk 10:25 - And behold, a certain expert in the law rose up, testing him and saying, “Teacher, what must I do to possess eternal life?”

They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Then render to Caesar what is of Caesar; and to God what is of God.”
Mt 17:25 - And he said, “From foreigners.” Jesus said to him: “Then the sons are free.

In that day, the Sadducees, who say there is to be no resurrection, approached him. And they questioned him,
Mk 12:18 - And the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, approached him. And they questioned him, saying:
Lk 20:27 - Now some of the Sadducees, who deny that there is a resurrection, approached him. And they questioned him,
Sk 23:8 - For the Sadducees claim that there is no resurrection, and neither angels, nor spirits. But the Pharisees confess both of these.

Verš 24
saying: “Teacher, Moses said: If anyone will have died, having no son, his brother shall marry his wife, and he shall raise up offspring to his brother.
Dt 25:5 - When brothers are living together, and one of them dies without children, the wife of the deceased shall not marry another. Instead, his brother shall take her, and he shall raise up offspring for his brother.

Verš 30
For in the resurrection, they shall neither marry, nor be given in marriage. Instead, they shall be like the Angels of God in heaven.
1Jn 3:2 - Most beloved, we are now the sons of God. But what we shall be then has not yet appeared. We know that when he does appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

Mt 22,1-14 - "Lk 14, 16–24

Mt 22,14 - Slovo "mnoho" vyjadruje všeobecnosť, podobne ako v 20, 28. "Málo" zasa znamená, že nie každý spĺňa podmienky na pozvanie k spáse.

Mt 22,15-22 - Mk 12, 13–17; Lk 20, 20–26.

Mt 22,21 - Obraz a nápis na minci mali upozorniť farizejov na skutočný právny stav ich vlasti. Mali si uvedomiť, komu sú politicky podriadení. Všeobecná Ježišova odpoveď o plnení povinnosti voči štátu svedčí o tom, že štát a jeho predstavitelia i podľa Božieho zákona oprávnene žiadajú od podriadených poslušnosť a dane. Podľa Ježišových slov však nijaké ľudské ustanovenie nemôže zrušiť Božie požiadavky, lebo Boha máme poslúchať viac ako ľudí (Sk 4, 19).

Mt 22,23-33 - Mk 12, 18–27; Lk 20, 27–40.

Mt 22,24 - Dt 25, 5.Je to ustanovenie o švagrovskom (levirátskom) manželstve. Saducejmi prednesený údajný prípad chcel zosmiešniť Ježišovu náuku o zmŕtvychvstaní.

Mt 22,32 - Ex 3, 6.Ježiš im odpovedá, že po vzkriesení už nebude manželstvo. Ľudstvo dosiahlo svoj cieľ. Okrem toho ak Boh je Bohom patriarchov, potom patriarchovia žijú, lebo on je Boh živých. Teda jestvuje posmrtný život a vzkriesenie.

Mt 22,44 - Ž 110, 1.

Mt 22,45 - Odpoveď je jednoduchá. Mesiáš je podľa ľudskej prirodzenosti synom Dávida, podľa božskej prirodzenosti Božím Synom.
